Cops Drive To Spread Awareness Among Yamuna Expressway Commuters On Road Safety

To create awareness among motorists about safe driving during winters, traffic cops have started an enforcement drive on Yamuna Expressway, advising commuters against speeding. Traffic officials have been deployed at Jewar toll plaza to advise motorists on low visibility in foggy conditions.

Cops were seen distributing pamphlets to commuters and asking them to check Tyre pressure before starting on a journey.

“Fog is common in winters and commuters need to be careful. Motorists should follow signage on the expressway to ensure safety,” said a traffic police officer.

The department recently set up a traffic cell at Jewar toll plaza, where a group of six traffic police personnel issue challans to violators. Till September this year, traffic police have fined 2,677 violators on the Yamuna Expressway for speeding.

The entire stretch between Greater Noida and Agra is under CCTV camera surveillance to monitor violations like speeding, said a traffic cop.

Traffic department is also planning to start e-challan system on the expressway. So, be aware before you plan your next trip to Agra soon.
